Jess is a graduate student from Georgia, studying both Library Science and Health Informatics. Active at multiple hospital facilities, Jess is the Reference Assistant for a metro Atlanta hospitals health science library as well as one of three Education Analyst at a level 2 trauma facility just outside of Atlanta. Her academic focus lies in health literacy and advocacy, where she hopes to work bridging the gap between the low health literacy rate and increase the quality of life. Jess firmly believes that this is possible through better cooperation from health facilities and library professionals. Her research interest center on community health, education, and the evolving relationships between libraries and consumer health. Jess has a BA in Liberal Arts, where she focused on English literature and library studies and conducted research on comic book culture. In her spare time, Jess is an avid comic book reader and enjoys exploring the Atlanta art scene.
